Broad Street Movies & Luxe Films

Here are two movies, films, flicks, theatrical releases or whatever you choose to call them on my must see list for 2010. First is a Film Festival hit, “Gangster Paradise:Jerusalema“. This South African gangster movie might be good enough to sit next to my City of God, Slumdog Millionaire & Gangster #1 DVDs. I like foreign gangster cinema. Enjoy the preview: Coming soon to select theaters…

Wall Street 2:Money Never Sleeps” looks like a very Luxe gangster movie. Yes in my opinion this is categorized as gangsta. This sequel to the 1987  ”Wall Street” directed by Oliver Stone is again directed by Oliver Stone. Michael Douglas also returns as Gordon Gekko. Fresh out of prison trying to fit back into society. Sound familiar? Sorry Charlie Sheen fans you will have to settle for Shia LaBeouf (Transformers).  Yeah so anyway enjoy the preview: In theaters Sept. 24, 2010

These two movies may seem worlds apart, but they’re really not. Broad St. & Luxe Blvd are closer than you think. Dont be afraid to come out of you comfort zone. A wise man once said, “I got the shot gun you got the briefcase. Its all in the game right?”   R.I.P. Omar Little

Iron Man 2:Product Placement

What a great beginning of summer blockbuster movies. This weekend I had the pleasure of viewing the Iron Man sequel. I’m not a crazy comic fanatic but I do enjoy the films. I have to say Tony Starks is the only super hero super star that ever made me say,”Wow, I have to get that”. And I don’t mean in a kiddie I want Batman’s boomerang kind of way. I mean I can actually go to Neiman Marcus  and purchase grown up toys.

I take great pride in taking the risk in buying things before I see some celebrity give a product thier stamp of approval. It takes some effort to be one step ahead of Hollywood & Rap stars. But I will admit its a losing battle. While viewing  Iron Man 2 here are some things I placed into my shopping cart or wish list.

These Initium “All In” sunglasses are a must have for me. I saw them I want them. Metal frame, polarized lenses and spring loaded hinges. Retail for $154. Maybe they fit my face shape maybe they don’t. The shades are Luxe. Breaking the face shape rule is Broad St. All sunglasses worn in the film are by Initium

Tony Starks vehicle of choice is the Audi R8 V10 Spyder. If you haven’t seen it here it is. Estimated price $165,000 ,4wheel drive & 0-60mph in 3.7 seconds. And it looks good really good.

Even down to the timepiece it is serious. Will the watch that Iron Man wears be more in demand than James Bonds?

Big Money Weekend

What a great weekend of Championship Boxing! Floyd Money Mayweather outclassed Shane Mosley 10 rounds to 2. Proving he has a strong chin and can stand toe to toe with anyone in his weight class. I enjoy Mayweather’s display of boxing science every fight.

You do not have to like the mans character but plenty of you show your respect and fear of him by not betting against him. And more people let their pride keep them from betting on him. Not me! Show me the money, Mayweather!  For this bout my cigar of  championship boxing was the Padron 40 year anniversary with Gentleman Jack Daniels.

Mostly anyone with some boxing knowledge and some guts won a few bucks this weekend. Some were scared while some bet $4 Million!!

Weak Rappers Beware

One of our mottos here at Broad & Luxe is “You can be Luxe but never forget your Broad St. roots”, so that being said check out the video by one of  Jerseys own, Big Ooh. This Trenton New Jersey native is battle tested and definitely on the rise to greatness. Shout out to Big Ooh’s father for introducing me to his son and his music.
