Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps

This weekend I had the chance to go see the sequel to Wall Street. In most of Michael Douglas’ movies he is Michael Douglas playing some great role, but in this film his character Gordon Gekko is all I saw for the entire 2 and a half hours. I shared the trailer for this film months ago with a brief description of the previous movie. I wont go all into that again but you will not be lost if you haven’t watched the original.

I was excited to see this movie because I like this kind of drama. The money, the greed, the hunger, the crime where guns and murders aren’t necessary. Gordon Gekko is a different class of criminal. Gordon returns home from prison and sets out to be a best selling author, but the (Wall)streets is all he knows. He wants to be in his daughters life and sit on the financial thrown again.

The name of the movie is Wall Street so expect a lot of trading floor financial board room talk. You will not get lost in it if your not into stocks and hedge funds. The director Oliver Stone who also directed,” Platoon” & “Natural Born Killers”, made sure everyone could relate to the movie. It was also about family, the recession, 9/11 and how these happenings effected our lives globally. And also how it would have affected us if things happened differently. For example if the U.S. did not bail out the banks.

Of course there was much Luxe to be seen in the movie. Cohiba and Davidoff cigars aplenty. One of our favorites Johnnie Walker Blue had 2 cameo appearances. Not to mention the cars and maybe a few stingray suits. This movie is Luxe go see it.

Events: SteelSouls & Gone Green Ent.

I hear people complain all the time that they are tired of the same old Jersey scene. Dollar bars, hood clubs, immature crowds and so on and so on. There is plenty to do but you must network, step away from the norm and become apart of the “society”. Here are some upcoming events by promoters whose events I have been to plenty of times and always deliver a great evening.

Saturday Sept. 18th, Steve aka @Steelsouls will host a MojitoMixer in a lounge atmosphere unlike any dollar bar dive could dream off. Enjoy a smoke with your music & Mojitos. If you missed the Ciroc Party you missed a good time.

Every Wednesday night Gone Green Entertainment hosts Game Night at the Cavalier. Spades, Wii, Taboo, Uno and just about every game you can think of. Full bar service with drink specials. Follow Gone Green Ent. on twitter to keep up @Ruger_Russ  @GoneGreenTeam  @IamRoseJose

Its all about just having a good time making it home safe and then do it again.

**Update** Gone Green Ent. now hosts Game Night at the Skybox Sports Bar in Roselle, NJ. This move was made to better accommodate the growing crowd.
