Hangover 2:Product Placement

**no spoiler**

This Memorial Day weekend I made sure I got to see the sequel to the cult favorite,”The Hangover 2.” This time the fellas visit Thailand &  Bangkok. As I sat in the theater with my giant over priced Coke Icee I realized it happened again. I’m not talking about the crazy drunken madness that we expect the Wolf pack to get into. I’m talking about product placement.

Just like in Iron Man part 2 I saw these Initium sunglasses I had to have. Never got them, but congratulations to those who saw them on Broad and Luxe and bought them. Serious Bok says you’re welcome! This time Mosley Tribe has gained my attention. I am really into my shades & already own Mosley Tribes so I know they are quality. The International Gangster Chow wears the Mosley Tribe Bromley in burgundy in the film.

Mosley Tribes Bromley $180

As for the movie Hangover 2 was good and entertaining. You kind of know what to expect, but that’s why I went to see it. I like the characters & I like the madness. I like how the story got all the original characters back together in a simple believable way. The product placement in the film wasn’t ridiculous like Iron Man. There was a cool car chase scene but that didn’t make me want a Toyota Corolla.

I say see the movie & have fun. If you have ever taken a trip with the fellas these films should bring back memories(unless your trips are boring and wack). Hopefully not to many memories like the Wolf Pack has though.

“If you want Chow’s sunglasses all you had to do was ask you don’t have to kill Chow!” ~Mr. Chow

Ralph Lauren: Father & Son Swimwear

Recently on one of Oprah’s final episodes she interviewed the fashion icon Ralph Lauren. They discussed everything from his childhood to his days as a stock boy up to the fortune he has created today. A big part of the show was dedicated to family. Mr. Lauren is big on family & and I see it in his work.

For summer 2011 Polo has a cool line of Father & Son matching swim trunks. I am already a fan of the swim trunks and this is just so very cool. I’m not into dressing like Bobsey twins, but this is LUXE.

Men’s Paisley Molokai $145

Molokai Boys Trunk $65

Tropical Rhino Trunks $59.50

East Hampton Boys Rhino $45

Mens Sanibel Trunk $69.50

Sanibel Boys Trunk $22.99

Bio:
“Bad Girl Radio
is an all female radio show that was established in January of 2009. The hosts of the show are Erica “Lady Kingpin” Albizu, Alicia “Ms. Gooding” Gooding, Blair “Bunnie” Dunlap and Angelica “Angie” Albizu. They also have an all female hosting/event planning team known as Bad Girl Ent. The first radio station the Bad Girl Show was featured on was The Joynt (99.3FM), after a year they moved their radio show to Mix1620 (1620AM). As the Bad Girls buzz began to grow, they began to realize, that their movement and their message was bigger than themselves and that they should use this new found spotlight to showcase all talents and POSITIVE movements going on throughout New Jersey and around the world.
Now in 2011, The Bad Girls are not only on-air personalities, they host artist showcases, events, and parties. They also are very involved in their communities. The Bad Girls do not stand for all things bad, they actually represent what they believe society doesn’t expect them to be; sexy yet smart, aggressive yet classy, women yet leaders.
All of the girls have separate dreams and goals and are pursuing them actively on the side, but one thing they all share is their love for the radio.”

Holt’s Cigar Co. & Mahogany on Walnut

This weekend the B&L crew headed out to Philly for a change of atmosphere. Here we visited Holts Cigar Company and Mahogany Cigar Lounge for lunch & libations.

Holt’s Cigar Co.  is big online. Great prices & deals so I hear. I am not a fan of ordering my cigars online. It is a plus that Holt’s has an actual retail location for guys like me. I enjoy the benefits of belonging to a cigar lounge which I believe far out weighs what I can save online. But that’s another story.

Holt’s is not filled with “premium alternatives” like JR cigars. Its premium from wall to wall with a helpful and professional staff. Lots of deals and specials. I did leave with a good amount of Drew Estate Liga Privada T-52′s.

Holt’s is all retail space not a lounge . Buy whatever cigar, pipe & accessories you need….and leave. Then head right next door to Mahogany on Walnut. Very nice comfortable dimly lit cigar lounge & bar. Fresh lunch, top shelf bar, antique interior, a couple flat screens & well ventilated. The beer selection is just ok but the whiskey menu is extensive. Excellent bartender I am positive she memorized the entire drink menu.

Philly is a beautiful city to make a day out of something. Eat good, smoke good, drink good, shop good. Luxe

B&L Snap Shots

I have a camera and take pics, but I am no photographer. I heard there is a difference. Regardless I see something Luxe I’m taking a pic. I usually tweet the pics but I have to get into the habit of carrying my camera. I have some serious photographers around me for inspiration so it will get better. Might step my camera game up this year as well.

Crazy mural of cigar smoking  cheshire cat at Kid Robot NYC flagship store.

Nice sculpture. Could be an ashtray.

Gun Lamps! Come on that’s nice. Created by FLOS.
